Registration

Q: How much does it cost to register?
A: Nothing. Registration is FREE.
Q: As a jobseeker do I have to register to use this site?
A: No. You can browse and search job postings without registering. You should still register, to save time, as the site will remember various preferences for you. Registration is FREE. Registering will also allow you to receive emails that notifiy you when your desired job is posted.
Pricing and Payment

Q: How much do job postings cost?
A: All job postings run for 30 days. The cost is based on the desired placement of your job posting (basic or featured ad) and if you want the ability to review resumes' of job seekers. Please click on the Pricing link at the top of the page to review our price schedule.
Q: How long do job posting run?
A: All job postings run for 30 days. You can extend your posting anytime for an additional 30 days.
Creating and Managing Job Postings

Q: Do I have to register to post a job?
A: Yes. You must be a registered user to create job postings. Registration is free. You only pay when you post a job.
Q: I created a job posting, but it does not show up in search results. Why?
A: You need to run your job posting. Go to My Account and click on Run ad to the left of the posting you wish to run. The system will ask for your credit card information, and your posting will run as soon as your payment is processed.
Q: How do I stop my job posting from running?
A: From the My Account page, click on the Stop link to the left of the job posting
Q: What kind of job postings do you not accept?
A: The following types of Job ads are prohibited on the site: - Multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes - Business or job opportunities that require upfront or periodic payments - Business or job opportunities that pay only commissions, unless the Ad makes it clear that the sole source of compensation would be commission and clearly describes the product or service that would be sold - Business or job opportunities that require recruitment of other members, distributors or agents - Ads that are not clear regarding what type of work would be required - Ads for employment that are stating a preference or requirement based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or disability
Q: Will my job posting be visible in other regions?
A: Yes. All job postings are visible in any region. The system will, however, always show a jobseeker job postings in their region first, then job postings from outside their region.
Privacy

Q: I don't want my name, phone number or email address to appear on your site. What should I do?
A: You can have all your personal information remain private. Update your personal privacy preferences from the My Account page.
Q: If all my information is private how can an employer/jobseeker contact me?
A: When your job posting or resume appears, instead of showing your contact information the following appears: "This employer/jobseeker has chosen to remain private. You may contact this employer/jobseeker via anonymous email by clicking here." The prospective employer/jobseeker completes an on-line form and the system sends you an email without revealing your information to the prospective employer/jobseeker.

Regions

Q: How do regions work?
A: jobCogs.com covers the U.S. All states and any city with a population of 100,000 or more is listed as a region. When you register or create job postings, you select a region. When you browse job postings, jobs in your region will be shown first. When you search for jobs, jobs in your region will be shown first.
Q: I don't see my city listed. What region should I choose?
A: Choose the city closest to you or the state you live in.
Charities

Q: What is the charity donation about?
A: When employers place featured job postings on jobCogs they get priority placement on the search results listings and free job seeker resume review. In addition we donate $20.00 to the charity of their choice from a list of predetermined charities.
Q: How are charities selected?
A: This was a tough choice for us. We ultimately decided to choose a handful of small charities and charities that personally touch us. We're a small company and we want to give support to small lesser known charities.
Q: How do I find out more information about the charities you're donating to?
A: On the left side of the page is a link called "Links". This page contains links to each charity we donate to.
Q: How can I get jobCogs to donate to my charity?
A: Please email the name, address, phone number and website address of the charity along with your contact information to info@jobCogs.com.
